Thanks!Anyone know of any inexpensive property for sale in northern Manatoba, Canada?
Northern Manitoba is mostly forests and lakes. Some parts are so remote that you have to fly in. This is not where you want to be for agriculture unless you plan on raising polar bears. It might be a great place to invest if you're willing to wait until the ice melts and they open a major port in Churchill.
You'd be better off looking in central to southern Manitoba. Most agricultural land is sold parcels of a quarter sections (160 acres) or greater. There may be restrictions on subdivision of farmland.
I've seen quarter sections with older houses listed for around $80,000 CDN. Some realtors list them as ';hobby'; farms. A ';real'; farm will cost $450,000 or more.
Beware of anything being promoted for recreation or with ';subdivision potential.'; Both mean the land is overpriced. Another thing to watch for the potential for flooding.Anyone know of any inexpensive property for sale in northern Manatoba, Canada?
While north of Flin Flon has little agricultural land; The Pas DOES have farming.
Polar bears are not in the picture until Hudson Bay.
You have been given incorrect advice and ';Brenda D'; should be ashamed of herself.
